I’d even go so far as to say that if you don’t have the SSD space for that, I would recommend using an external TB (not USB) drive for the Windows partition. You get the best of both worlds at the expense of partition space (this method does not dynamically resize the volume like a regular VM does). Then you can tell Parallels to use that Boot Camp partition as your VM.
